There is a lot of discussion nowadays on “Superfruits”. Is there such a thing as a “Superfruit”, and if there is, what constitutes one?
It is claimed “Superfruits” are better for you than “ordinary” fruit and vegetables. They are claimed to make you smarter, slow down aging and/or help prevent diseases such as cancer and diabetes by having a higher number of antioxidants to fight the free radicals that breakdown cells and accelerate aging and disease.
Superfruits haven’t been defined scientifically, but it’s generally agreed that they are valued in their native country for their medicinal or health enhancing properties and that they have usually double, triple or quadruple the number of antioxidants than other fruits.
Numerous laboratory studies around the world support that belief, although it could be years before conclusive data is available. One thing is universally agreed – the foremost factor in keeping people healthy is their diet – everything boils down to what we put into our body. And antioxidant-rich foods are the most potent fuel we can ingest.
The unique thing about “Superfruits” is that nowadays they are almost exclusively consumed in a processed format for convenience– either as a juice or capsule. There is usually little demand for the whole fruit because of the cost, inconvenience or border controls in shipping to other countries, and the taste often tends to be bitter, or they can be fiddly or difficult to eat. Juicing the fruit at source and shipping the juice is a more convenient and cost effective way of marketing and selling a product.
One method of measuring the efficiency of antioxidants in the battle against free radicals is to measure the oxygen radical absorbency capacity – ORAC. University researchers have found that people need about 5,000 ORAC units per day to counteract free radical damage. A number of fruits and vegetables found at most supermarkets have high ORAC values.
Noni Scores High on the ORAC Scale. In general, the ORAC table is an acceptable measure for comparing water-soluble antioxidants like anthocyanins. This test shows that Noni Juice provides several times more capacity to absorb free radicals than most other antioxidant fruits and vegetables.
The ORAC table is not the be-all and end-all of measuring antioxidant capacity. There are thousands of phytonutrients (plant nutrients) that scientists have not yet been able to identify or isolate, and can’t be measured. This means that there is no way to completely assess the full nutritional and antioxidant benefit of any given fruit or vegetable using the ORAC chart. In general, though, foods that list high on the list could be considered a valuable source of antioxidants.
The main problem with the ORAC table is that antioxidants can’t be truly evaluated using a set of numbers. Some supplement companies may manipulate the figures to make their product look more powerful than anything else. They can use different sets of measurements — either dry weight, liquid measures, or typical serving sizes; they also will not include other foods that might compete with their numbers and make them look less impressive.
If we take all the information above and ask the question – “Noni – is it a Superfruit?” the answer has to be “Yes”.
Like any other health product, Noni Juice is not a magic bullet that will change an unhealthy person’s life and make them healthy again. That takes a change in lifestyle altogether – eating more fruit and vegetables, more exercise, less alcohol, less sugary drinks and processed food, no smoking. But a daily dose of Life Health Noni Juice included in a healthy daily regime will certainly fortify you against illness, boost the immune system and slow down the aging process.
Who doesn’t want a healthier body, a glowing skin, to feel great when they get up in the morning and sleep well when they go to bed at night? We are what we put into our bodies, and we are the only ones who can control that.
Research suggests that Noni’s action includes purifying the blood, stimulating the immune system, regulating cell function, and regeneration of damaged cells. Noni is also an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-congestive and analgesic. It can help to restore and regulate the body’s pH balance and has the ability to assimilate nutrients, blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and endocrine system, particularly pineal, thyroid and thymus action.
Life Health Noni Juice is 100% pure with no additives or preservatives, and is independently certified organic by AsureQuality. What a fantastic “Superfruit!”.
